Christmas "Wrapping"

We had a busy weekend filled with family Christmas pictures,
last-minute post office runs to get gifts and cards mailed out, tree decorating (finally),
goodie baking to deliver to friends and neighbors...

all with Michael Bubble crooning our favorite Christmas songs in the background.

If you haven't given his new Christmas album a listen,
your missing out - it's sort of become the new holiday soundtrack in our house...
 always on repeat!

No Soup For You!

Lilah Belle attempting to stab eat soup with a spoon...
(and it looking more like a crime scene)

Lilah Belle attempting to eat soup with a spoon...
(after an aha-parenting moment of changing her spoon hold)

Can't really blame her for stabbing her soup.
I'd be frustrated too if someone handed me the spoon bassackwards and told me to eat.

With Papa Bear back in town now
we sure have a lot of holiday festivities to catch up on.

Hope you have a "full" weekend ahead!

Big Shoes To Fill

Little Lilah must be missing her Papa Bear...

Mama sure is!

Lilah Belle Bakes!

(from a box no less - I'm so ashamed)

Spoons at the ready...
Everything tastes better when it's made with a little love!

Butter...

Eggs...

Stir...

Taste test...

Roll...

Into the oven...

A quick clean up...

While the cookies bake...

Time for frosting...

Quality control...

Whew, Mama might wait for Papa Bear to return
before attempting to finish up the holiday baking?!

All Wrapped Up...

...and tied with a bow in her very own Christmas Apron!

Mama's very first attempt (this and a matching Mama apron) at sewing with her new machine.
(sans pattern and straight pins - oh notions, who knew?)

Thank goodness it only needs to fit for the holidays.

Now we can get our bake on!

Hope your weekend's sweet...

Thursday Threads: Three Ways

Fisherman Sweater.

To be honest, this one is kind of tough.
It's tough because finding a sweater that doesn't add an extra 15 pounds
and turn you into the "stay puff marshmallow man"
takes some work.

Work because you have to try on a million different sweaters.
(all the while keeping calm about that "faux-15" that keeps showing up in each new dressing room)

The key is, as always, proportion and fit.

The magic happens when the right material is melded with the right proportion and fit!

Not that my sweater/looks are magic by any means.
When in doubt - accessorize...

...hence the 170 lb. dog to play down any "faux-15" fears!
