Chicken-legs and Meat-sticks?

Continuing with the chicken theme...

It's been a little over one month

since I started supplementing Little Lilah with one 2 oz. bottle of formula before bed

and

drumroll please...

That's right - a 1 lb. gain in about four weeks!

This little lady's "chicken-legs" are well on their way

 to becoming full-fledged

"meat-sticks"!

A term of semi-endearment used in this house.
As in, "Otis get your big-ass meat-sticks off the couch!"
or
"Brian, use your meat-sticks and get it yourself."

Feel free to throw "meat-sticks" into your own daily vernacular, as we have yet to trademark it!

Hopefully Lilah's meat-sticks will be a lot less hairy though...

or we're going to run into a few problems once the junior high years roll around?!

Chicken Sit

That's no typo...

This past weekend
our cute neighbors The Daley's
needed someone to chicken sit for them for a few days
while they enjoyed a quick Spring Break get away...

Of course we volunteered!

All weekend we had free-range, Daley-raised chicken eggs!

(Delicious!)

Papa has caught the chicken-fever and that can mean only one thing...

The Garlick Homestead will soon be expanding
with the addition of our very own chicken coop and three little chickadees!
(Mama must be in some sort of "fever" induced delirium too?!)

Saturday Morning Sioux Chef

Some Saturday mornings, Lovely Lilah dons her chef hat
to lend her Papa a helping hand in the kitchen...

Sometimes working in the kitchen can be quite hazardous...
(we will go ahead and ignore the proximity of my child to the plethora of sharp kitchen knives directly to her left)

Luckily Papa is an excellent "Executive Chef" and can resolve any upsets with a simple spoon swap!

Brunch is served!

(And the all-you-can-eat "booby buffet"is fully stocked and open for business!)

Fashion Friday: Threads Three Ways

Threads Three Ways:

"The Classic Trench"

Trenchcoat: Old Navy

The Classic Trench is a must!

Here I show you how I to take it from dressy to *ultra-casual.
Honestly, a great trench can be belted and thrown on over anything and instantly make you look polished!

Example: I wear it over my yoga pants and a cute sweatshirt to and from Yoga class to feel a little more chic!

I didn't belt here, but make sure when or if you do, not to button first!
Just tie and go for an updated take...

Here is a great post from Ain't No Mom Jeans to guide you:

Spring Momiform Inspiration: Two Takes on the Trench

*Disclaimer for recommending the "trench over sweats" look - it may lead you to be falsely accused of shoplifting if paired with really ratty sweats, a giant Timi & Leslie Charlie II diaper bag and nary a trace of make-up?!

Consider yourself forewarned!

(True Story!  Humorous now!  At the time, not so much!)

Fist-Pumpin' Friday

Lilah and Big "O" can be found over here today as well:

Dear Spring:  We are ready and waiting for you!

Dear Big "O":  You are a good puppy (even if sometimes Mama says otherwise)!

Hope your Friday is filled with fist-pumps!
